The Content Management System of SoftTech IMS™ enables non-technical authors throughout your hospital to directly create Intranet/Website content in their own area of expertise. By distributing content responsibilities, your hospital no longer struggles with a "Webmaster bottleneck"; information is now timely and fresh. This is made possible by the SoftTech IMS™ Element Editor, which is a user-friendly, WYSIWYG content editing interface. By stripping out the navigation bars and other non-editable content from each page, the Element Editor protects content authors from inadvertently altering the basic navigation and brand coherence of the site. Web Page authoring without learning HTML Within the Element Editor, authors can use familiar tools to add and edit text content, including hyperlinks, mail-to links, and links to downloadable files. Authors can also add tables, insert forms, and add graphics to their content pages. With these easy-to-use features, your non-technical staff can quickly create valuable content without needing to learn web coding or HTML skills. SoftTech Health’s healthcare clients currently run Intranets with hundreds to thousands of pages that are updated on a daily basis – by assistants, lab workers, nurses – people from every part of the hospital. Wider distribution but with better security A content management system must balance distributed content creation among multiple authors, with appropriate security measures to prevent overlapping or unauthorized content changes. In the SoftTech IMS™, editing access to each page is restricted only to pre-designated authors, so that when an author logs in to the system, he can open and edit only those pages to which she has permissions. Automatic approval routing ensures that, after an author submits a revised page, the system emails the page to the appropriate editors for review before live publication.
